Jay's Brilliant Red A4

Jay's Audi A4

Showcased for this week is a B7 A4 from Kingstown. The car is an Audi A4 2.0T Quattro with a full on S-Line package. The beautiful Brilliant Red paint and black trim pieces give this car an aggressive tone on the street. With tinted windows, the car looks sleek and sporty, particularly with the S-Line front bumper. With an obvious Audi bias, it is with great anticipation we await some of the upcoming modifications planned for the car. While discussing his plan for modification, Jay hinted at the possibility of a black-out on the chrome trim. This popular modification enhances the red and black contrast, and makes the car look even more aggressive while maintaining its elegance.

The real treat for this car, is the interior. The interior trim is a sleek brushed aluminum which contrasts beautifully with the black leather seats and perforated leather wrapped shift knob and steering wheel. While discussing the plan for modification, Jay hinted at the possibility for a set of new front seats to amplify the sporty feel, and driver safety of the car.

Ultimately, the car is a beautiful platform to build from. Jay’s plan for the vehicle includes a long list of modifications. After promising “I’m not going to mod this car”, Jay has decided to go with Stasis coil overs for ride height adjustment, a black out of the chrome trim pieces, new front seats, a TT steering wheel, modified rear valence, and a custom designed air intake system utilizing a relatively new mod to the two litre tfsi scene, the metal intake pipe. This car has fantastic potential, and it’s owner is no amateur. By next show season, this car will undoubtedly be a top performer.

Audi A4 2008

Johns 2008 Audi A4

John's 2008 Audi A4

This 2008 Audi A4 two litre turbo is owned by a local Audi enthousiast John.  The car comes factory with a two litre, k03 turbo charged engine producing 200hp and 240tq at the crank.  That however, barely holds a candle to the numbers produced by this car. At last dyno John mentioned the car produced close to 300wtq and 247whp. A big difference over stock.  The modifications to this car may not be as visible as some other cars, however the performance speaks wonders for this beautifully subtle beast. The cars ride height has been lowered on imported german coilovers to produce a more aggressive appearence and better handling. With a few borrowed parts from the cars big sister, John has added the Audi RS4 rear sway bar. The car runs on a power tune from GIAC and is assisted by an amazing 2.5″ exhaust including the downpipe. The cars exterior has clear side-markers on the front bumper to create a more european feel on the U.S. streets accompanied by an S-Line exterior package. Other exterior modifications include a typical tint job on the windows and front filler plate, which may be standard depending on your state.

The ride of the standard Audi A4 car is that of a typical European sports sedan. Elegant, stylish, and classic are all the words used to describe Audi’s recent line of redesigned cars, however with just a few modifications, John has shown that those words can be turned into, powerful, sleek, and FAST. Though admittedly “not the fastest car on the road” the 300 pounds of torque make for quite the thrill ride in the luxury sedan.
